For over four decades, George Kovacs has been a name synonomous with contemporary design. George Kovacs is a pioneer in the fusion of clean lines with unexpected twists and curves, resulting in pieces that had a modern appeal with a retro flavor. George Kovacs designed and manufactured his products from his facility in Brooklyn, NY up until a few years ago. His studio, designs, and naming rights were purchased by the Minka Group and his collection was incorporated as a stand-alone grouping.
Although the products are now imported, the design heritage remains the same. George Kovacs lighting remains at the forefront of cutting edge contemporary style, and he retains a team of renowned designers, including George Kovacs himself, Rachel Simon, Karim Rashid and Alecia Wesner. These lighting experts have designed a wide selection of wall sconces, pendants, ceiling lights, bath lighting, table lamps and floor lamps.
There is nothing better than a Kovacs light for today's modern home decor. Be sure to borwse the Kovacs line of lighting and be astonished by the intriguing and forward-looking aspects of cutting edge design and technology. Defined by unusual elements fused with a popular vision of what modern means, his lighting creates an individual and powerful sense of space no matter where it is placed.

Center light completely overshadowed by side lights if same wattage bulbs are used. Otherwise; gorgeous chandelier.

Easy to install and looked much better in person than online. The fabric is beautiful.

Comments about George Kovacs by Minka Kimono Chandelier:
This fixture works perfectly in my contemporary home, but is not so over-the-top modernist that it would be objectionable to the masses. (Personally, I would go over that edge, but have to keep resale value in mind here - I know we will move in the next year or two.) It is hanging in a very large open space - an open stairwell facing a big window. It is the third fixture we have tried there because we needed something that was "space-filling" and dramatic. This one is perfect. The picture nicely illustrates the vaguely Asian style, but you might miss that there is a subtle pattern in the fabric shades that is very cool and complements the clean lines of the over-all design. One hint before the ladder is dismantled: put lower-wattage bulbs in the smaller "satellite" shades that surround the central large one so that the light output (and appearance of the shades) will be balanced.

We installed in the chandelier in our dining room. It looks really good for a moderately priced light. The silk shades are beautiful.

This light is perfect for a dining area as the light given off is very soft. It's also very beautiful and is a conversation piece by itself. I've gotten nothing but compliments since having it installed.

Comments about George Kovacs by Minka Kimono Chandelier:
The light definitely took the stylish factor in my dining room up several notches. I get nothing but positive comments about the light as soon as anyone looks at it. This is definitely one of my best purchases for my home.
The only problem I ran into during installation was a few small particles of ceramic material were stuck in the track between a socket and shade, but some digging with a small tool solved the problem within minutes.

Best if you have a high ceiling, but the downrod is in sections so it is easy to shorten. [...]
